In South Ossetia, Russia Day is a public holiday. Most of the residents of the Republic are citizens of the Russian Federation; we consider ourselves a part of the great power and value our relations, which are based on the principles of mutual respect, partnership and alliance.

This is stated in the congratulation of President Alan Gagloev on the Day of Russia.

He has reminded that Russia is the guarantor of the security and stable development of South Ossetia.

The Head of the Department of Biology, Head of the Biomedical Research Laboratory of the South Ossetian State University, Professor Teimuraz Kokoev will take part online in the IV International Conference 2023 on green energy, environment and development arrangements.

As reported to IA “Res” by the professor, the event will be held in Mianyang, in the Sichun province of China, from June 15 to 17.

Minister of Education and Science of South Ossetia Aslan Lolaev is taking part in the International Forum of Ministers of Education, which is taking place on June 8-10 in Kazan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Forum participants with a welcoming speech.

The South Ossetian-Russian joint demarcation commission discussed the course of international legal registration of the state border between the two countries, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic reports.

The eighth meeting of the Commission was held on June 5-9, 2023 in Tskhinval.

"The meeting was held in the spirit of open dialogue, good neighborliness and mutual understanding," the Foreign Ministry noted.

In the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the situation of internally displaced persons and refugees from South Ossetia and Abkhazia there is no a word that the cause of the problem is the military aggression unleashed by Georgia in 1989 against the South Ossetian and Abkhaz peoples, the RSO Foreign Ministry said in a commentary.

On Thursday, in Moscow, Children's Ombudsmen of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding and Cooperation in the field of protecting the rights and interests of the child.

Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Aelita Dzhioeva is in the Russian capital on a working visit. During the visit, she met with the Children's Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova.

The State Song and dance Group "Simd" and actors of the State Drama Theater of South Ossetia will perform in Ulyanovsk, Minister of Culture of the Republic Rada Dzagoeva said at the press conference at the State Committee for Information and Press.

On Tuesday, in Tskhinval, the Russian language holiday was held in the Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The International Day of the Russian Language is celebrated on the birthday of the Russian poet, the founder of the Russian literary language.

Members of the government, the Russian Embassy in the Republic headed by Ambassador Marat Kulakhmetov, the head of the Russian House in Tskhinval Sergey Skvortsov, Russian language teachers, schoolchildren, students, and others gathered at the celebration.
