President Alan Gagloev has met with the servicemen of the 4th military base - the special military operation fighters, who came to South Ossetia on short leave.

As reported by the press service of the head of state, Gagloev warmly greeted the fighters, noting that he was looking forward to their speedy return home with victory.

“Each of us knows what a serious task has been entrusted to you. Sometimes it is difficult to even find the right words when one thinks about the events taking place on the fronts of the special military operation,” he said.

A scientist from South Ossetia, head of the department of socio-economic research of the Republican Research Institute Vyacheslav Dzhabiev took part in the international scientific and practical conference "The Transcaucasia Front during the Great Patriotic War", held in Kabardino-Balkaria.

As reported to IA "Res" by Dzhabiev, the conference, organized by the Department of General History of KBSU, was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The meetings of the South Ossetian children's rights ombudsman in Moscow resulted in a number of important agreements aimed at improving the protection of human rights and cooperation with the international community. A Serbian-made hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher was found in the village of Pris in Tskhinval district of South Ossetia, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

On Sunday, Tskhinval hosted the flower-laying ceremonies at the memorial complex to the fallen defenders of the Republic and the chapel at the memorial cemetery in the courtyard of school No. 5.

The events were dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Republic's Defense Ministry.

The Tskhinval Secondary School No. 6 handed over humanitarian aid to the Ossetian fighters in the special military operation zone.

“Food, medicine, dugout candles, warm socks, sweets that the children baked themselves during the labor lessons at school were included in the parcels for the fighters, which were recently handed over to the fighters through the commander of the Sarmat battalion Vladimir Naniev,” the principal said.

A ceremonial meeting of public representatives in honor of the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Defense Ministry of the Republic was held in Tskhinval.

Before the event, President of the Republic Alan Gagloev familiarized himself with the international photo project "We Accuse!" - on the evidence of Ukrainian crimes in Donbass and other frontline Russian territories. The photo exhibition is located in front of the building of the State Drama Theater.

For South Ossetia, Defender of the Fatherland Day has a special meaning, since not only the Armed Forces and security forces, but also all residents of the Republic, fighters of self-defense units were defending their homeland. This was noted at the press conference in Tskhinval by Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, Major General Vadim Siukaev.
