Prospects for development of interregional cooperation, strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties, as well as interaction in socio-economic sphere were discussed at the meeting between President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and the head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov.
Rashid Temrezov thanked President of South Ossetia for his visit and participation in the celebrations dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the founding of Cherkessk, the press service of the head of the South Ossetian state reports.
"Dear friend and brother Alan Eduardovich, I thank you and all the people of South Ossetia for sharing this holiday with us.
The Almighty is my witness that on the 20th we will pay a return visit. For me, who has not visited South Ossetia for over 10 years, this trip is especially important. And even more so on such an important occasion for our fraternal republic, union state and our country - the Russian Federation. I am sincerely grateful," he said.
Alan Gagloev and Rashid Temrezov discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for developing relations.
The President emphasized the importance of maintaining close contacts between the regions of the North Caucasus and South Ossetia, calling Karachay-Cherkessia "a reliable and sincere friend."

We always come to the fraternal republic with the best intentions. And today the delegation of South Ossetia has arrived to share this warm holiday with you and take part in the events.
The people of South Ossetia remember how in difficult times the people of Karachay-Cherkessia extended a helping hand. We remember the humanitarian aid and support of our fighters.
Of course, we are waiting for our brothers with a large delegation, including representatives of the government and parliament,” Alan Gagloev said.
He has expressed confidence that through joint actions the parties will strengthen interregional ties in the interests of both republics.
