THE AMERICAN SENATORS FORGOT HOW THEY WERE STRUGGLING FOR INDEPENDENCE

Why did the American senators come? This question is raised by people in Tskhinval, they hope that the delegation came to see the situation on the spot. This time the foreign guests were in a hurry. The visit lasted only for 40 minutes but the senators were prepared for the visit in terms of delicate demonstration of their feeling for Tbilisi and indifference to South Ossetia.

THE CAPITOL “LANDING”

On the 27th of August Tskhinval was visited by the most dignified delegation in the history of South Ossetia, the delegation from the American Senate – 15 Senators with their wives. The meeting was also attended by the OSCE Chief of Mission Mr. R. Riv.

STATEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH OSSETIA

The recent events clearly indicate that the leadership of Georgia purposefully glows the situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict that is already extremely tensed.
The scenario of the activities was not changed: on the territories, mainly inhabited by Georgians and temporarily controlled by Tbilisi, the Georgian Special services carry out provocations, the victims of which become residents of South Ossetia of Georgian as well as Ossetian ethnicity.

MURAT TKHOSTOV: “REACTION OF THE GEORGIAN AUTHORITIES ON THE INCIDENT IN AVNEVI CAN ONLY BE CALLED TENDENTIOUS”

“Unfortunately the reaction on the happened event in Avnevi, village in South Ossetia that is controlled by the Georgian side, can only be called tendentious. The comments on the situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict were given by the JCC Co-Chairman from the North Ossetian side Murat Tskhostov to the Correspondent of “Res” agency.

COMMENTS FROM A POLITOLOGIST

On August 5 during the monitoring in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone, carried out by the OSCE Mission Observers, were found out trenches near the Ossetian village Tbet. When the Mission Observers tried to have a closer look at the trenches, they were stopped by the residents of the village. On this occasion the OSCE representatives made a protocol and complained on the conduct of population that allegedly restricted their freedom of movement in the conflict zone.
