The border authorities of South Ossetia detained and expelled back a citizen of Georgia who violated the state border, the press service of the State Security Committee reported on Monday.

"On February 26, in the evening, in the vicinity of the village of Orchosan, Leningor district of the RSO, the border authorities of the Republic detained a citizen of Georgia Amiran Mantashashvili, born in 1992, a resident of Tbilisi, who had illegally crossed into the territory of South Ossetiao.

In South Ossetia, extreme surprise was caused by the speech of the leader of the "Essence of Time" movement Sergei Kurginyan, aired on the Russian TV channel "Russia 1" on February 25 on the air of the talk show "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov", which contained incorrect and inadmissible formulations of a dubious nature about South Ossetia with a mention of the public authority - the leadership of the Presidential Executive Office of South Ossetia. This is stated in the commentary of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic to the news agency "Res".

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus in South Ossetia on the last day of the working week was 13, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, said on Monday.

"On February 26, 167 tests were carried out in the Republic, of which 13 were positive. Thus, the total number of cases of coronavirus in the Republic increased to 3046," Gagloeva said.
