Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory message to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Syrian Arab Republic Faisal al-Mikdad on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic by Syria, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.

“On May 29, 2018, on the day of the next anniversary of the Independence Day of our state, our people received the invaluable gift: the recognition of the state sovereignty of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Syrian Arab Republic.

The strengthening of Washington's hostile policy against the Russian Federation leads to the need to create Russian military bases abroad, Russia is obliged to strengthen its presence in the CSTO countries, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), Viktor Bondarev, head of the Defense Committee of the Federation Council, believes.
