President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev awarded the Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, a native of the Republic of South Ossetia Professor Givi Besaev with the Order of Honor, the press service of the head of state reports.

In accordance with the presidential decree, the high award was given to the scientist for great personal merits in the field of healthcare, high professionalism and in connection with the 80th anniversary of his birth.

South Ossetian chess players are participating in the online match with chess players from the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The international competitions are dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In South Ossetia, the event is being held at the Russian House in Tskhinval.

According to the head of the official representation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in South Ossetia Alan Pliev, the event is being held for the first time.
