In Tskhinval, on Wednesday, on the International Day of Missing Persons, a memorial action was held in the Iuane Agyuyzaty (Gabaraty) square, where relatives and friends of the missing, the public, and representatives of the Republic's leadership gathered.

Before the action, a divine service was held in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary dedicated to the missing citizens.

Chairman of the NGO "Memory and Hope" Lidia Kudzieva has noted that many families still do not know the fate of their relatives.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev sent a telegram of condolences to the General Director of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia Vladimir Urin in connection with the death of the famous ballerina and teacher, People's Artist of the USSR and the Republic of South Ossetia, Honored Artist of the Republic of South Ossetia Svetlana Adyrkhaeva.

On the International Day of Missing Persons on Wednesday, August 30, with the assistance of the Chess Federation of South Ossetia and the financial assistance of the Ironsan winery, a children's chess tournament will be held.

According to the organizers of the event, it will be attended by children from the families of the missing and pupils of the Belaya Ladya chess school.
