Presidents of South Ossetia and Abkhazia Alan Gagloev and Aslan Bzhania discussed state issues of the two republics in the informal setting on the eve of the holiday, press Secretary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Natalya Bosikova told IA “Res”.

“The presidents talked in the informal setting, after which our delegation was organized an excursion around Lake Ritsa, on Stalin’s boat. The Ossetian people and the head of the South Ossetian state are receiving a very warm welcome, which is very valuable for us,” said Natalya Bosikova.

The South Ossetian authorities are holding consultations on new Russian customs rates

The leadership of South Ossetia is holding consultations with Russian colleagues in order to prevent an increase in prices for goods due to changes in customs duty rates on goods exported from Russia, according to the message published on the official website of the government of the Republic.

“From October 1, 2023, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1538, the rates of customs duties on goods exported from the Russian Federation will change. This resolution applies, including to South Ossetia and Abkhazia,” the government said.

Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and Abkhazia discussed the situation in Transcaucasia

In Sukhum on Friday, a meeting was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, Akhsar Dzhioev, and his Abkhaz counterpart, Inal Ardzinba, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

Akhsar Dzhioev expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and congratulated the people of Abkhazia on the upcoming Victory Day in the Patriotic War, wished peace, prosperity and further victories.

A meeting of the South Ossetian-Russian demarcation commission was held in Moscow

The ninth meeting of the joint South Ossetian-Russian demarcation commission was held in Moscow on September 26-29, the press service of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry reports.

“The Joint Commission continued its work on the international legal registration of the state border between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.

The meeting was held in the spirit of good neighborliness and mutual understanding,” the statement of the press service reads.
