Alan Margiev has been elected as the new Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia

Alan Margiev has become the Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia of the VIII convocation. He was elected by secret ballot at the first meeting of the Republic's legislative body.

Margiev's candidacy was the only one on the ballot for secret voting.

27 out of 34 deputies took part in the voting. According to its results, 26 deputies voted for Margiev, 1 against.

Alan Margiev is a representative of the Nykhas party. He became the 13th Speaker of the Republic's legislative body.

South Ossetia strongly condemns the vile crime of terrorists in Dagestan - Gagloev

South Ossetia strongly condemns the vile crime of terrorists against the people of Dagestan, President Alan Gagloev said in a telegram of condolences to the head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergei Melikov.

On Sunday evening, the Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs reported an attack on a synagogue and a church in Derbent, as well as an Orthodox church and a traffic police post in Makhachkala. Nine people became victims of the terrorist attacks, including the law enforcement officers, clergy and ordinary citizens.

Alan Gagloev expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the terrorist attack in Sevastopol

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev called the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on civilians in Sevastopol the inhuman act of terrorism.

“Another inhuman act of terrorism was committed today by the Ukrainian military against civilians in Sevastopol. As a result of the missile strike, hundreds of civilians were injured and children were killed. The terrorists, who had lost the last vestiges of humanity, could not help but understand that they were hitting the civilian population,” the text of the condolences says.
