Participation of South Ossetia in the International Investment Forum "Sochi-2012" is a chance to show the potential of the Republic, to demonstrate the willingness for cooperation and the desire to work on attracting investments. It is equally important to develop business relations with representatives of the scientific and business associations of the Russian Federation.
A meeting of the Minister of Justice of South Ossetia Murat Vaneev and the Chairman of the Slovak youth, a well- known Slovak lawyer Slavomir Yanchok, as well as the Association Secretary Mary Granchichova, has been held in Tskhinvali.
The delegation of the South Ossetian leadership has attended today the XI International Investment Forum "Sochi-2012".
A photo exhibition "Slovakia: the eyes, looking ahead", organized within the frames of cooperation between the youth wing of the People's Party of South Ossetia and the organization "Association of the Slovak Youth" has hosted today in the capital of South Ossetia. The event was attended by members of the People's Party, youth of Slovakia, representatives of the movement "New People", the People's Party of the Moldavian Republic of Transdniestria, students of the South-Ossetian State University and the invited guests. At the exhibition were presented the photos by Nicolas Te, Jonathan Gasco and other prominent Slovakian photographers.
Nicaraguan people will be supporting South Ossetia in future. This has been declared today in Tskhinval by First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation Mr. Ernesto Vasquez Juan Araya, who arrived in Tskhinval to take part in the celebrations of the Republic Day.
"In the person of the people of Nicaragua the Ossetians have brothers who will be supporting them," - said the first secretary.
At the Theater Square of the South Ossetian capital today has taken place a military parade dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic. In front of the tribune with the leaders of South Ossetia and the visitors lined the stuff of the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior, Border Guard Agency, cadets and the servicemen of the fourth Russian military base and the Russian border guards.
South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov received the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation Mr. Ernesto Vasquez Juan Araya, who arrived in Tskhinval to take part in the celebration of the Republic Day. The meeting was attended by the RSO Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dmitry Medoev.
The President expressed his gratitude to the guests for their participation in the celebration of this important for the South Ossetian people date, and reminded that Nicaragua had recognized the independence and sovereignty of South Ossetia, following the Russian Federation.
South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov met with the President of the Republic of Nauru Sprent Jared, arrived in Tskhinval to take part in the celebration of the Republic Day. Tibilov has welcomed the guests, noting that people of South Ossetia are very hospitable and any holiday without guests - is not a real holiday.
"You are the first one of the presidents of the countries that recognized our independence, who have come for today's holiday. Therefore, I want to express a special word of appreciation, and in your person to greet the fraternal people of Nauru,"- said Tibilov.
Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia with regard to
the situation on the border with Georgia
Four years after the armed aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia in August 2008 the situation in the region is still tense and is characterized by the intention of the Georgian leadership to carry out the large-scale provocations. Georgian authorities, despite the impact of August 2008, are not going to leave their revanchist sentiments.
In the territory of Georgia, which is adjacent to the border of South Ossetia and belongs to the zone of responsibility of the EU mission military observers, there is a boosting of the Georgian military presence, including armored vehicles andmultiple launch rocket systems. One can observe the newly built fortifications and almost all border settlements formed warehouses for storage of weapons. It is also observed activation of the Georgian intelligence services, transferring of the armed police posts several hundred meters closer to the border of South Ossetia, as it happened in Zardiantkari.
President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov has received today the delegation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, led by Deputy Head of the NKR Government Minister Gary Dzhangiryan, arrived in Tskhinval to celebrate the Republic Day. The delegation has also included General Secretary of the NKR Foreign Ministry Semen Afiyan.
The Head of State welcomed the guests on the ground of South Ossetia and thanked them for their attention in such a significant date for the Republic.
