Weapon caches were discovered by the border guards in Znaur district of South Ossetia

October 21 and 22 near the village of Balta in Znaur district of South Ossetia the border guards of the FSB Border Control Agency of Russia in South Ossetia discovered two caches of weapons and ammunition.
"In one of the caches were two grenades to the rifle-attached grenade launcher and four projectiles to 30 -mm automatic gun, in the other one - a 16 -gauge double-barreled shotgun, three F-1 grenades with fuses and more than 600 cartridges for small arms. The content of the caches were seized by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic", - said a representative of the Border Control Agency.
According to the press service official, for the last week have also been detained four violators of the state border near the villages of Artsev, Disev and Tsinagar.
"Two cases of violation of the state border have been connected with the illegal goods transportation across the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia, and near the village of Tsinagar – with the illegal crossing of the state border."
The press service official has noted that a violation of the state border of South Ossetia near the village of Disev was recorded by a video-lokator system "Rubezh," established along the border in the flat part of Tskhinval district.

Georgian Interior Ministry has tried to set a police post between the villages of Znaur district

Another incident involving the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has recently occurred at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia.
As the news agency "Res" has been informed at the press service of the KGB, the armed Georgian policemen in masks, accompanied by a patrol car of the Interior Ministry and the Defence Ministry for 300 m penetrated into the territory of South Ossetia and attempted to set a post on the road between the villages of Tsnelis and Kalet in Znaur district.
"The police attempted to stop a grader, working on a road and detain the driver, a resident of the settlement of Znaur. After the appearance of the border guards, the Georgian police left the territory of South Ossetia," - told the KGB.
Currently this stretch of the state border is under observation; the situation in the area is calm.

Leonid Tibilov has received a new commander of the fourth military base Mikhail Polishchuk

President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov has received today a new commander of the Russian 4th military base of the Guards in South Ossetia, Guards Colonel Mikhail Ivanovich Polishchuk, who succeeded Major-General Alexander Shushukin –a commander of the 4th military base since its establishment in 2009.
As IA "Res" has been reported at the press service of the President of South Ossetia, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister of South Ossetia Rostislav Khugaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev and former commander of the Russian 4th military base of the Guards Alexander Shushukin.
The head of state highly appreciated the achievements of Alexander Shushukin in the formation and construction of the military base.
" We remember well in what difficult field conditions you had to work. Today is another reality, and Mikhail Ivanovich will have to work in a more favorable conditions, "- said Leonid Tibilov.
The President has stressed that since the formation of the fourth military base has developed a good tradition of good relations between Russian servicemen with the leadership and the local population of the Republic.
"I am confident that this tradition will continue with the arrival of a new commander, and all the issues we face, will be resolved in the course of our joint meetings," - said the President of South Ossetia.
"Russia has every reason to believe that the fourth military base is deployed in the absolutely friendly country, - said in turn the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev. - The attitude of the local population to the Russian servicemen, as well as to Russia as a whole, is extremely positive. The people of South Ossetia remember the events of August 2008 and are grateful to the Russian servicemen, whose deployment here is a factor of peace and a guarantee of stability. "
The Russian ambassador has also noted that the already established tradition of partnership of combat collaboration of the Russian fourth military base with the detachments of the South Ossetian army will be further strengthening.

In 2013 the South Ossetian border guards detained more than 250 violators of the state border - KGB

October 11-18 the KGB of South Ossetia considered the cases against two citizens of Georgia, reported IA "Res" the press service of the KGB of South Ossetia.
"A citizen of Georgia Zakro Chochishvili, a native of the village of Patara Khurvaleti in Gori district of Georgia, detained October 11 in the RSO settlement of Orchosan, by the court decision was fined 2000 roubles and expelled from the Republic. Another citizen of Georgia, Janicke Gabrichidze, a resident of Tkibuli, detained October 13 in the village of Chorbauli in Znaur district of South Ossetia, is under investigation", - explained in the KGB official.
From January to September 2013 the Border Guard Service considered the cases against 109 citizens of South Ossetia, 126 cases of Georgian citizens and 32 citizens of other states. All of them were detained by border guards on the Georgian- South Ossetian sections of the state border.
"From among the total number of detainees for the 9 months of the current year, 89 offenders were fined. 72 Georgian citizens were fined by a court decision and expelled from the Republic. Six Georgian citizens convicted under the article 322 of Criminal Code of the Russian Federation are currently serving a sentence. 48 Georgian citizens were deported from the Republic without penalty under the Article. 14 of the Law of the Republic of South Ossetia "On the State Border", "- told the KGB official.

The participants in the MPRI discussed the situation at the state border of South Ossetia and Georgia

The situation at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia, as well as security issues in the areas adjacent to the state border have been discussed today in Ergneti during the 38th meeting in the framework of the mechanisms for preventing and responding to incidents (MPRI).
As reported on the results by the head of the South Ossetian delegation Khokh Gagloyty, have been studied in detail the incidents that have occurred since the previous meeting.
"In particular, was discussed the act committed by a group of unknown persons on October 12 near the South Ossetian village of Mugut and the Georgian village of Dvani", - he said.
The unknown persons, according to Gagloyty, penetrated into the territory of South Ossetia by about 20 meters and installed the wooden cross there.
"We have promptly notified the EU Monitoring Mission, expressing the utter rejection of the deliberate action that means that the state border of South Ossetia has been deliberately violated. We have learned that the Georgian priest through the Georgian media called for building a temple on this particular spot", - he said.
The South Ossetian side "has appreciated highly" the speech of the new head of EU observers in Georgia Toivo Klaar in the Georgian media, who has called the incident dangerous and unproductive.
" We have no doubt that the perpetrators of this action were politically motivated. There was no any religious or moral motivation in this act "- underlined Gagloyty.
Today the new head of EU observers in Georgia Toivo Klaara was introduced to the participants of the meeting. The South Ossetian side expressed the hope that the level of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia would remain at the same professional level with the appointment of the new head.

Preparations for the next round of the Geneva talks were discussed by members of the South Ossetian and Russian delegations
