"The border post is located on the border line of the Republic of South Ossetia and Georgia at an altitude of 944.8, which is dominant in this section of the border," the KGB statement said.

Deputies of the South Ossetian Parliament intend to raise the issue of moving the Georgian checkpoint near the village of Sinagur, Dzau district, at the IPRM meeting.

On Wednesday the parliamentarians visited the western border of the Republic to determine the location of the Georgian checkpoint, said Elena Kulumbegova, a spokeswoman for the Parliament.

The trip of deputies took place at the request of Speaker Alan Tadtaev, after receiving the information that the checkpoint being built by the Georgian side was located in the village of Sinagur.
