Laying flowers and wreaths at the “stele of peacekeepers” took place in Tskhinval

South Ossetia is marking the 28th anniversary of the introduction of the Joint Peacekeeping Force in the Republic of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. Solemn events began on Tuesday morning with the laying of wreaths and flowers at the “stele of peacekeepers”. The ceremony was attended by President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov, Prime Minister Eric Pukhaev, Speaker of the Parliament Alan Tadtaev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, military personnel, including former peacekeepers, and representatives of the Republic’s public.

No new cases have been detected: two citizens with a diagnosis of COVID-19 are undergoing treatment in a hospital

Over the past day in South Ossetia, no new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected, 70 (a day earlier 147) people are under medical supervision, Deputy Head of the South Ossetian Supervision Committee Anna Gagloeva told IA “Res”.

Since May of this year, over 3 thousand tests for coronavirus have been carried out in the Republic. A total of 87 infected with coronavirus were detected, 85 recovered and discharged from the medical facilities.

The bringing of peacekeepers is a significant event in the recent history of the Ossetian people

July 14 is the 28th anniversary of a significant event in the history of the Ossetian people – the introduction of a Mixed peacekeeping force in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict on July 14, 1992. We should recall the international political environment in which the decision to deploy a peacekeeping force was made, as well as the actual deployment and start of operation.

Bibilov on the situation on the border with Georgia: our main task is not to succumb to provocations

Georgia will not give up provocative actions against South Ossetia, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov said, commenting on the situation on the state border of the Republic with Georgia at the request of IA "RES".

"These " traditions" were nurtured by the criminal regime of Mikhail Saakashvili, who put the policy of state terrorism against the Ossetian people at the forefront, and their roots go back to the 1920s of the last century, when the population of South Ossetia was subjected to mass destruction, " the President said in the interview.
