South Ossetia will mark the Day of Memory and Mourning

On the Day of Memory and Grief on June 22, a number of significant events will be held in South Ossetia, prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic.

As Minister of Culture Zhanna Zasseeva has informed the IA "Res", the theatrical performance "Requiem" was prepared jointly with the Ministry of Education of the Republic, which will be shown on June 22 at 19:00 in the assembly hall of the Tskhinval gymnasium "Albion".

In South Ossetia, flowers were laid at the monument to 13 Communards at the Zguder cemetery

On Sunday, on the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the genocide of Ossetians, flowers and wreaths were laid at the monument to 13 Communards at the Zguder cemetery in South Ossetia.

The decree establishing a memorable date - June 20 was signed by the head of state - Anatoly Bibilov in 2020. The past year was also declared the "Year of Remembrance" in connection with the centenary of the genocide of Ossetians, carried out in 1920 by the Georgian Democratic Republic.

Victims of the genocide will be remembered in South Ossetia

The events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Genocide will begin on June 20 at 10:00 am with the laying of flowers at the monument to 13 Communards at the Zguder Cemetery, the press service of the South Ossetian Ministry of Culture told the IA “Res”.

The Republican Library of South Ossetia hosted a presentation of books about the 1920 Ossetian genocide

The presentation of 3 books, published with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of South Ossetia, took place in the Anakharsis Republican Library in Tskhinal. The books “So that the past is not forgotten” and “Pages of the memory album” are dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the genocide of the Ossetian people. The third book is an album with the works of the school students of the fine arts studio of the secondary school in the village of Khetagurovo, Tskhinval district.

Deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia discussed the problems of residents of border villages of Tskhinval district

The meeting of the Defense and Security Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Atsamaz Bibilov.

The parliamentarians discussed the problems of residents of the border villages of the Tskhinval district that arise when they move across the border area, the press service of the legislative body reported.

Discussion of this issue will continue at the next meeting of the relevant committee.

In a day, 10 residents have been detected with coronavirus infection

South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee reported on new tests carried out in a day, the day before, 10 residents of the Republic were diagnosed with coronavirus, the head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee Marina Kochieva told IA” Res” on Thursday.

According to her, 61 tests for coronavirus infection were carried out in the department's PCR laboratory.

South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee announced new data on coronavirus

Three new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered over the past day, Chief Sanitary Doctor Marina Kochieva told IA "Res" on Wednesday.

The total number of cases of COVID-19 infection in the Republic has reached 3375, of which 3341 have already recovered.

"85 tests conducted on Tuesday evening revealed three new cases of coronavirus," Kochieva said.
