Georgian citizen sentenced to three years in prison in South Ossetia for marijuana smuggling

The border service of the KGB of South Ossetia, in cooperation with the FSB of Russia, stopped the attempt to transfer a narcotic drug to the territory of the Republic. The press service of the KGB reported this on its Facebook page.

"On December 10, 2021, a citizen of Georgia Chkhikvadze Mamuka Nugzarovich, born in 1981, was detained for violating the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia, during a personal search, a narcotic drug "marijuana" weighing more than four grams was found.

A serviceman from South Ossetia was awarded the Order of Courage of Russia

The serviceman of the 4th military base of the Russian Federation stationed in South Ossetia, military doctor Vladimir Kuleba was awarded the Order of Courage by the decree of the President of Russia. He was seriously wounded in combat during the special operation. A high award was presented to him for his dedication, courage and bravery shown in saving people.

Vladimir Kuleba graduated from the Tskhinval School No. 3, studied at the Tskhinval Medical School.

From 2006 to 2008 he was serving in the Peacekeeping Forces in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

The team of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia finished first in the "Tank Biathlon" race of Army Games-2022

The team of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia won the first race of the "Tank Biathlon" of the International Army Games-2022. According to the press service of the defense department, the crew reached the finish line in 33:06, having hit 4 targets out of 5.

The crew commander is Colonel Taimuraz Gubaev, the gunner-operator is Senior Lieutenant Andrei Sabanov, the driver-mechanic is Captain Soltan Kulukhov," the department clarified.

They noted that the second place in this race was taken by the team of Iran, the second - by Mali, the third - by Zimbabwe.

Modern weapons will be presented at the Russian base in South Ossetia as part of the Army-2022 Forum

The events of the military-technical Forum "Army-2022" with a demonstration of modern weapons of the Southern Military District will be held at the Russian military base in South Ossetia, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.

"In total, on the territory of the Southern Military District, the Forum will be held at 16 sites of the Patriot military-patriotic parks of 9 regions of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Southern Military District and Russian military bases in Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia," the press service said.

A scientist from South Ossetia will take part in the international scientific conference

Professor of the Alexandra Tibilov South Ossetian State University, Head of the Department of Biology, Head of the Laboratory of Biomedical Research of the University Teimuraz Kokoev received an invitation to two international conferences, which will be held simultaneously in Taiwan from October 28 to November 1 this year.

Anonymous boxes are being installed in South Ossetia to search for the missing persons

Today, relatives of the missing persons and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), together with the authorities of the Republic, began installing anonymous boxes in border villages, as well as in districts of the Republic, so that people who have useful information regarding the fate or whereabouts of the missing persons can share it, said the Presidential  Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of South Ossetia, Inal Tasoev.
