Russia and South Ossetia this year will be celebrating the anniversary - 15 years of recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia has expressed condolences to the family of Russian diplomat Valery Loshchinin, who passed away on March 14 at the age of 83.
"The outstanding Russian diplomat and statesman, a retired Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary has died. The most important stages in the recent history of South Ossetia are connected with the name of Valery Vasilyevich," the Foreign Ministry's telegram of condolences reads.
South Ossetia is closely monitoring the processes taking place in Georgia, Chairman of the Parliament Alan Alborov noted in the comment to IA “Res”.
“Is it possible to open a second front or carry out a provocation at the borders? Everything is possible in the modern world, and South Ossetia has lived under conditions of permanent aggression for many years. South Ossetian-Russian relations have a very rich history and deep roots, the two nations are united by spiritual and cultural closeness, the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry stated, referring to the current stage of relations between the two countries.
In February, 14 violators of the legislation in the border sphere were detained at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia, of which 5 were violators of the state border regime, 9 - the border regime, the KGB said in the statement.
