Putin: relations between the Russian Federation and South Ossetia are of a special nature, developing in all directions

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin discussed economic and military cooperation.

"I will not characterize the relations between South Ossetia and Russia. Here, it seems to me, comments are superfluous, they are of a special nature," Putin stated, welcoming his counterpart in the Kremlin's representative office.

In South Ossetia, the memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy will be commemorated

A mourning meeting in memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy will be held in South Ossetia on March 18. Issues of preparation for the mourning event were discussed on Thursday at the meeting of the State Commission for the organization of holidays and memorable dates.

The commemorative event will be held at the city cemetery, where thirty-two years ago, 12 Ossetian men were buried alive in a mass grave after brutal beatings and torture.

Alan Gagloev will meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday

On Thursday, March 16, Moscow will host a meeting between presidents of South Ossetia and Russia, Alan Gagloev and Vladimir Putin. This was announced at the briefing by the press Secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

“Today, the working visit of President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, postponed earlier for medical reasons, will take place, and his conversation with President of Russia will take place,” Peskov said.

"Of course, bilateral relations with South Ossetia are very important in our work," Peskov said.
