The violator of the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia was released from the South Ossetian correctional colony after the expiration of the sentence and handed over to the Georgian side, the press service of the KGB of the RSO reports.

President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad thanked Alan Gagloev for the position of South Ossetia and condolences in connection with the victims of the devastating earthquake that had hit Syria on February 6.

"The Syrian people highly appreciate the position of South Ossetia, which has shown a high human and moral sense and has taken the initiative to support them in their plight," reads the text of the telegram published on the official website of the President of South Ossetia.
