Representatives of public organizations of Russian compatriots in South Ossetia are taking part in the St. Petersburg Forum of youth associations of compatriots and foreign Russian-language media “Russian Abroad”.

The South Ossetian delegation has included the head of the youth wing of the Union of Russian Citizens of the Republic, Marta Kharebova, and the activist of the public organization “Rossy ” Lana Kokoity.

In South Ossetia on Wednesday horse racing was held for the prizes of President of the Republic, dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Act of Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The best riders and horses from all over the Republic took part in the sporting event.

15 people applied for the prizes, among them one girl - Daria Obukhova from the Dzau district.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the deputies of the parliament of the first convocation, who adopted the Act of Declaration of Independence of the Republic 32 years ago. Gagloev has noted that the date of May 29 is one of the main public holidays in South Ossetia.

“On this day, 32 years ago, a big step was taken towards the recognition of sovereignty,” Gagloev said, noting that the people of the Republic had gone through a long and difficult path of struggle for freedom and independence.

The Russian Federation, being interested in establishing peace and stability in its immediate border area, taking into account the historical connection with the South Ossetian people and spiritual community, took all possible steps under those conditions to stop the war. This was stated in the speech of President Alan Gagloev at the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Act of Proclamation of Independence of South Ossetia.

South Ossetia is celebrating the next anniversary of the adoption of the Act of Proclamation of State Independence under peaceful skies, as the recognized sovereign state and with confidence in its future together with Russia. The head of state has emphasized that today many people perceive all this as some kind of natural benefit, like sunlight or clean air in our country.

A decision of historical scale, and this is exactly what the adoption of the Act of State Independence was in the conditions of that time, is impossible without people taking upon themselves the fullness, the entire burden of responsibility.

The 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Act of Declaration of Independence of South Ossetia was celebrated in Tskhinval with a ceremonial meeting and a festive concert.
