Back into history: January 6, 1991 - the beginning of Georgia's open aggression against South Ossetia
In South Ossetia, January 6, 1991 entered the modern history of the Republic as "Bloody Christmas". This day was the beginning of Georgia's open military aggression against the South Ossetian people. On the night of January 6, the internal troops of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, supposed to maintain stability, removed their posts and went to the barracks without notifying the leadership of the Republic.
