The meeting of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokojty with the state secretary, the deputy Minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation Grigoriy Karasin took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The meeting has taken place on October, 12th.
The special attention has been given to the necessity of renewal of the negotiating process between the parties in an existing format.
As the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokojty has noted in his interview to the correspondent of the News Agency «Res» there was no alternative to the Joint Control Commission:
«There is alternative to the format of JCC for the peace settlement of the question and the renewal of normal functioning of the negotiating process.
The ossetic party does everything for the normal activity of the Joint Control Commission, as the international law demands it from us. However Georgia does everything to translate the negotiating process into the channel of power settlement. Nevertheless, we shall further on insist on a dialogue», the President of the Republic of South Ossetia has emphasized.
The head of the Ossetian part of JCC Boris Chochiev and the head of the Russian part of JCC Juriy Popov also took part in yesterday"s meeting. The prospects of renewal of a full-fledged activity of the Joint Control Commission and the priority directions of its work have been considered at the meeting. The interest in the productive carrying out of a plenary session of the Commission, which is planned to call in Tbilisi at the end of October of this year, is confirmed.
Besides, Grigoriy Karasin and Eduard Kokojty have exchanged their opinions on the situation in RSO and have discussed the pressing questions, demanding the urgent settlement with the purpose of removal of intensity in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict.
