The governments of St. Petersburg and South Ossetia in autumn intend to sign an agreement on cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian spheres, Chairman of the Government Eric Pukhaev said.

It should be noted that the South Ossetian delegation took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

According to the press service, “preliminary cooperation agreements between our governments were reached at the SPIEF site,”. At the moment, the parties are preparing a draft agreement, which, presumably, will be signed this fall.”

A briefing for journalists with participants of the first Russian-Ossetian Youth Forum was held in Tskhinval.

The guests of the Republic, sharing their impressions, have noted that in South Ossetia there is a beautiful nature, a rich history and hospitable, welcoming people.

A member of the youth policy committee of the Republic of Abkhazia, Vladimir Jojua, says that he is feeling as at home in fraternal South Ossetia.

The head of the first Russian-Ossetian Forum, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism, Valentina Gatikoeva thanked all the participants of the Forum, noting that their arrival in the Republic is a manifestation of great respect for the people of South Ossetia.

“These days will be fruitful, I`ve already known that a start will be given to new projects and many ideas will be implemented together,” she noted.

The grand opening of the first Russian-Ossetian youth Forum took place at the Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater. The Forum began with a video about the project participants and a laser show about the history of the people of South Ossetia.

The state song and dance group "Simd" pleased the guests with its colorful performance - the national color and high professionalism of the group caused a lot of positive emotions, after which the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism, director of the Forum Valentina Gatikoeva addressed the youth.

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations with the Republic of South Ossetia President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar Assad, sent a telegram to President Anatoly Bibilov, the press service of the head of state said.

The head of Syria, addressing the President of South Ossetia, expressed "a desire to continue cooperation and make efforts, relying on the work done during the year, to strengthen bilateral relations in order to move towards new horizons of cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two nations."

Security issues, missing persons and humanitarian issues are a range of issues that are on the agenda of the Geneva discussions. The co-chairs came to Tskhinval to outline with their colleagues the circle of issues discussed at the upcoming round, which is scheduled for the beginning of July. At the end of the official part of the dialogue, the co-chairs commented on the results of the meeting and answered the questions of the South Ossetian media representatives.

Security and non-use of force

At the Rossotrudnichestvo representation in South Ossetia was honored schoolchildren who had taken part in the V World Compatriots Games in Khanty-Mansiysk. The South Ossetian team took the 5th place in the team competition, and also won in individual nominations.

President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the RSO Marat Kulakhmetov congratulated the children on the achievements at the international level event.

Bright and recognizable uniform

The co-chairs of the Geneva discussions arrived in South Ossetia to discuss with the South Ossetian colleagues the agenda of the upcoming round of the Geneva discussions.

Murat Dzhioev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement issues, has noted that today they will have to continue the responsible work that the co-chairs are conducting at the platform of Geneva discussions on ensuring peace and security in our region. Murat Dzhioev has expressed hope that the upcoming round will be very positive.

International observers of the voting process at the seventh convocation of the South Ossetia’s Parliament on June 9 have stated the democratic nature and transparency of the electoral process, talking about their positive impressions of our state. Chairman of the Issuikai Patriotic Organization of Japan, Mitsukhiro Kimura, told the news agency Res about the prospects for cooperation between Japan and South Ossetia.

In Spain, has completed the European championship in freestyle wrestling among juniors to 21 years. The winner of the competition in the weight class up to 92 kg has become Aslanbek Sotiev, according to the press service of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic.
In the final match, the ward of coach Caesar Tibilov defeated his opponent from Azerbaijan Askhab Gamzatov with a score of 11: 0.
