In Geneva, the delegation of South Ossetia raised the issue of illegal post in the village of Uista

The issue of the illegal Georgian post in the village of Uista in Znaur District of South Ossetia was discussed during the 55th round of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia, the press service of the office of the Republic’s Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement told the “Res” news agency.

“It was emphasized the extremely negative impact on the state of affairs of the fortified post illegally set up by the Georgian side near the Ossetian border village of Uista,” the press service said.

Another round of Geneva discussions ended without result

The participants in the two-day 55th round of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia again failed to come to concrete results. The parties only spoke in favor of continuing joint efforts to find the ways to strengthen stability and security in the South Caucasus, and agreed to hold the next round on March 29-30, 2022.

A BMP-2 ammunition was found on one of the streets of Tskhinval

Sappers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia left on Monday morning to neutralize a shell found on one of the streets of Tskhinval, the press service of the Emergency Situations Ministry told the IA “Res”.

“A 30 mm BMP-2 projectile was found on Nartovskaya Street in the capital of the Republic. The Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call from a traffic police officer at 09.56,” the press service said.

The sappers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations left for the place. The ammunition was defused.

A resident of the capital of South Ossetia found an explosive device at the entrance of her house

On Sunday afternoon, a resident of Tskhinval discovered a dangerous find and reported it to the rescuers, Vazha Dzagoev, the head of the Emergency Situations Ministry's duty shift, told the IA “Res”.

“A woman living on Lenin Street, 130, reported to the emergency department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that she had found a grenade at the entrance of the storeroom while cleaning. We immediately sent sappers there and upon arrival it turned out that it was an F-1 combat grenade,” Dzagoev said.
