Russia will continue cooperation with South Ossetia in the fight against coronavirus - Lavrov

Moscow will continue to cooperate with South Ossetia in the fight against coronavirus, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the meeting with South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev.

"On the very issue of combating coronavirus infection, we note that through the efforts of your and our doctors, thanks to the supply of the Russian vaccine, the situation has stabilized, the process of infection has begun to decline. We will continue to work in this direction," Lavrov said at the meeting.

Russian Foreign Minister noted the growth of trade between Russia and South Ossetia

Trade turnover between Russia and South Ossetia in the first half of this year increased by 70%. This was stated on Monday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, opening talks with South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev.

"I would like to note that our trade turnover is growing. For the first half of the year, by almost 70%. There are chances by the end of the year to reach indicators that will significantly exceed the dock-like ones (in 2019, the Russian-South Ossetian trade turnover amounted to 78.793 million dollars - approx. TASS)", - he said.

On December 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with the Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and Abkhazia Dmitry Medoev and Inal Ardzinba. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic issued on Sunday.

On Thursday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) donated additional equipment to the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee to support the work of the PCR laboratory.
