South Ossetia's desire to become part of Russia confirms its status as a peacekeeper – the senator

In a situation of global world instability, South Ossetia is looking for reliable protection and hopes to find it as part of Russia, this confirms the status of the Russian Federation as a peacemaker, said Viktor Bondarev, the head of the defense committee of the Federation Council.

Earlier, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov stated that the Republic would soon take legal steps to become part of Russia. He has noted that the opportunity to realize this "strategic goal" was back in 2014, when Crimea was reunited with the Russian Federation following the referendum.

The Russian doctor Andrei Zhigalo has been awarded the Order of Friendship of South Ossetia

The meeting of the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov with a traumatologist-orthopedist, hand surgeon Andrey Zhigalo took place in Tskhinval as part of his working visit to participate in the International Medical Conference.

On Friday, Andrey Zhigalo, together with his colleagues, performed more than 50 hand surgery operations on South Ossetian patients on a free basis.

The President has expressed his gratitude for the work he has been doing in South Ossetia for more than a year and presented him with the state award of the Republic - the Order of Friendship.

Anatoly Bibilov arrived in the DPR

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov arrived on a working visit to the Donetsk People's Republic, the press service of the head of state reported.

"The President is scheduled to meet with the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin. Issues of cooperation to help the people of Donbass will be discussed," the press service notes.

Representatives of Abkhazia, Austria, Venezuela, Germany, Nicaragua, Turkey and others will be observing the presidential elections in South Ossetia

Foreign observers are expected to arrive in South Ossetia to monitor the presidential elections on April 10, Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev told the IA “Res”.

Anatoly Bibilov and Denis Pushilin have held negotiations

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov met with the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin in Donetsk, the press service of the head of state reported.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of South Ossetia and the DPR Azamat Chochiev and Alexei Kostrubitsky.

Denis Pushilin noted the importance of the assistance of the South Ossetian people for the residents of Donbass.

President of South Ossetia will visit Donbass – the press service

President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov will visit Donbass, Dina Gassieva, press Secretary of the President of the Republic, told journalists on Friday.

"Anatoly Ilyich will go to the Donbass, he said this while sending humanitarian aid," she has specified.

South Ossetia sent 20 tons of humanitarian aid to the Donbass and the liberated territories of Ukraine. Sending help will continue.
