Sanctions against Russia will affect, among other things, South Ossetia, since both countries represent a single political and geographical space. The head of the South Ossetian state Anatoly Bibilov stated this live on Instagram.

“All products that we do not produce here in the Republic come to us only through the Russian Federation, and, without a doubt, sanctions against Russia will affect us. They are directed against the Russian Federation not because there really is a need for it, but in order to weaken it,” the President said.

Students from South Ossetia, Russia, Abkhazia, DPR and LPR will send a letter to the UN and the OSCE calling for an end to the genocide in Donbas

The Round table #DonbassbeZgenocide” with the participation of students from South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Russia, Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics was held online on Thursday.

The event was organized by the center of youth diplomacy "Legatus" in Donetsk.

Its participants unanimously decided to send an open letter to the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the world's leading media and the entire world community calling for an end to the genocide in Donbas.

A mourning rally in memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy will be held in South Ossetia

A mourning rally dedicated to the victims of the Eered tragedy will be held in South Ossetia. As Res was informed in the Ministry of Culture, the event will be held on March 18 at 12.00 at the city cemetery.

“The mourning event will be attended by the leadership of South Ossetia, relatives of the victims of the tragedy, and members of the public. Buses will be organized from the Theater Square of Tskhinval for those wishing to take part in the mourning meeting,” the ministry said.

In Tskhinval on Thursday, Andrei Bakaev, a native of South Ossetia, perished heroically during a special operation in Ukraine to protect the inhabitants of Donbass, was carried off with military honors.

Sergeant Andrei Bakaev served in one of the units of the 58th Army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Andrei was 35 years old, he had two children. Awarded the Order of Courage of Russia (posthumously).

The memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy will be perpetuated in South Ossetia

A memorial complex will be opened in South Ossetia in memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy. This was reported to the “Res” news agency by Minister of Culture of the Republic Zhanna Zasseeva.

As noted by the Minister, the authors of the monument are the honored artists of South Ossetia Sarmat Zasseev and Robert Khubaev.

“The work on the monument has already been completed. The location of the memorial complex will be agreed with the relatives of the victims of the tragedy. We want this monument to be a living reminder of what fascism can do,” Zasseeva said.
