On Sunday, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev congratulated Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia on his enthronement day, the press service of the head of state reports.

According to Gagloev, in the responsible post of the primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Porfiry invariably shows an example of firm protection of the interests of Orthodoxy.

"Your selfless work aimed at strengthening church peace and civil harmony deserves deep respect," the President said in the letter of congratulations.

In the capital of South Ossetia, the collection of humanitarian aid for the earthquake-affected residents of Turkey and Syria continues.

On Monday, on behalf of President of the Republic Alan Gagloev, a collection point for assistance was opened in the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports.

As reported to the “Res ”news agency by the press service of the Committee, residents of the Republic are bringing warm clothes and essentials.

Children's choreographic groups of South Ossetia will hold a charity concert in support of children affected by the earthquake in Syria, the press service of the Ministry of Culture reports.

The event is held at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture at the Chermen State Cinema and Concert Hall in Tskhinval on February 22, the concert starts at 17.00.
