At the Geneva talks the parties were not ready for compromise – expert

The twentieth round of international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia has finished in Geneva.

How do you assess the outcome of the Geneva discussions?

The attitude to the Geneva process is double. On the one hand any debate - is good and it should be maintained. To expect some breakthrough, even minimal success in these negotiations is unreal; it is a purely technical site, because none of the parties is ready for compromise.

Professional boxer from South Ossetia is training for another fight

South Ossetian professional boxer Murat Gassiev will hold his next rating fight on July 26 .
As IA "Res" has been informed by the coach of the athlete Vitaly Slanov, "the fight will take place in Montenegro. An opponent of our athlete will be a 28-year-old Croatian boxer Lubomir Lyubochich. He is a champion of Croatia and the Adriatic Sea countries among professionals".

South Ossetian young scientists will go to the international conference in Nalchik

Young scientists and students from South Ossetia are invited to the International scientific-practical conference "Youth in the formation of an innovative economy and a transition to a knowledge society", which will be held in Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkaria), September 19 - 21. This has been reported to IA "Res" by the South Ossetian Research Institute named after Z. Vaneev.

Leonid Tibilov met with the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks

President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov received the members of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva international discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia. During the meeting the head of the state was informed about the outcome of the Geneva June 8, 2012 twentieth round of negotiations.
A head of the delegation Boris Chochiev reported to the president, that on the initiative of the South Ossetian side during the talks was considered the validity of using the terms "occupation" and "occupied territory" that at the instigation of Georgia are trying to put into circulation the State Department, Congress and U.S. Secretary of State, as well as some international organizations with regard to South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Creation in the Kremlin of a new l agency on cooperation with the CIS countries, Abkhazia and South Ossetia has indicated that it is the CIS territory which is once again becoming a priority, and, in its potential, a trump card of the Russian leadership. The next round of the Geneva talks is scheduled for October

Information for media on the results of the twentieth round of the Geneva international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia.

The twentieth round of the Geneva international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia ended June 8, 2012. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of South Ossetia, Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the United States, as well as representatives of the EU, UN and OSCE. South Ossetian delegation was headed by Boris Chochiev.

Representatives of the Republic of Abkhazia and South Ossetia have stated at the 20th round of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia the illegitimacy of using the terms "occupation" and "occupied territories" in relation to South Ossetia and Abkhazia in accordance with norms and principles of the international law.
