The Date: September 9 – the Day of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Ossetia and Russia

On September 9, 2008, an exchange of notes of the foreign ministries of South Ossetia and Russia on the establishment of diplomatic relations took place, which marked the beginning of a new stage in the history of the Ossetian people – the revival of the Alanian state.

The exchange of relevant notes between the two foreign affairs agencies, which took place 13 years ago, became the logical conclusion of the recognition of the Republic's independence by Russia on August 26, 2008.

We are all fighting for the Russian world - President of South Ossetia

Issues of the Pridnestrovian-South Ossetian cooperation were discussed at the PMR Foreign Ministry

Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev discussed plans for interaction with the head of the South Ossetian Representative Office in the PMR Vitaly Yankovsky.

"Within the framework of the discussion, an exchange of views took place on topical aspects of the Pridnestrovian-South Ossetian cooperation in various fields, including the development of interdepartmental contacts and the implementation of a number of joint project initiatives in the social, humanitarian and cultural spheres," the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.

Murat Dzhioev discussed preparations for the next round of the Geneva discussions via video link

KGB of South Ossetia recommends residents of the border villages to take a responsible attitude to the emerging epidemic situation in Georgia

The State Security Committee of South Ossetia has informed about the absence of positive trends in the fight against the spread of coronavirus in Georgia.

"The analysis of the incoming information indicates not only the extremely low intensity of the immunization process of the Georgian population, but also the regular increase in the number of deaths, as well as the provision by the Georgian authorities of distorted information about the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country," the KGB said in a statement released on Tuesday.

International online conference for families of the missing persons is being held in Tskhinval

The second international online conference for families of the missing persons is being held on September 6-7 in the conference hall of the Iryston hotel in the capital of South Ossetia. The event was organized by the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

According to the press service of the ICRC, ten relatives of the people who went missing in the conflicts of the 1990s and 2008 are taking part in the conference.
