The total turnout of voters in South Ossetia, who took part in the voting for the presidential elections in the Republic, by 14.00 was 40.4 percent, the head of the CEC of the Republic of South Ossetia, Emilia Gagieva, told the “Res” news agency.

"40.4 percent of the voters included in the voting lists took part in the second round of the elections, the required 30 percent threshold has been exceeded, respectively, the elections are considered successful," she has specified.

In South Ossetia on Sunday, at 8 am, polling stations opened, the presidential elections have started. The Defense Minister of South Ossetia Vladimir Pukhaev announced the need to recognize the status of Ossetian volunteers taking part in the special operation in the Donbass. Pukhaev is on a working trip to Donetsk, where he will meet with the South Ossetian servicemen and volunteers, as well as the military leadership of the DPR.
