Presidential elections in South Ossetia considered successful, - CEC

The total turnout of voters in South Ossetia, who took part in the voting for the presidential elections in the Republic, by 14.00 was 40.4 percent, the head of the CEC of the Republic of South Ossetia, Emilia Gagieva, told the “Res” news agency.

"40.4 percent of the voters included in the voting lists took part in the second round of the elections, the required 30 percent threshold has been exceeded, respectively, the elections are considered successful," she has specified.

In South Ossetia on Sunday, at 8 am, polling stations opened, the presidential elections have started. Anatoly Bibilov received a delegation from the Federation Council of Russia

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has met with a delegation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation headed by Sergei Tsekov, member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, who arrived in the Republic as international observers for the presidential election on May 8.

Alim Lokhov, perished in the special operation in Ukraine, was posthumously awarded the Order of "Uatsamonga"

The highest military state award, the Order of "Uatsamonga" in South Ossetia, was posthumously awarded to serviceman Alim Lokhov, who had perished during the special operation in Ukraine. He was buried on Friday with military honors in his family village of Khetagurovo.

The decree on awarding (posthumously) Alim Lokhov with the "Order of Huatsamong" for courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty was signed by President Anatoly Bibilov.

South Ossetia is ready to hold the re-run of presidential elections

Polling stations for voting in the presidential elections in South Ossetia are ready to open, the CEC secretary Kristina Avlokhova told the “Res” news agency.

“To organize voting for the citizens of our Republic on May 8, at 8 am, 76 polling stations will be opened in South Ossetia, Moscow, Sukhum and Vladikavkaz, a total of 40,000 ballots have been printed,” Avlokhova said.

Minister of Health of South Ossetia visited the servicemen who are undergoing treatment in St. Petersburg

Minister of Health and Social Development of South Ossetia, Soslan Naniev, has visited the wounded who took part in the special military operation, who are being treated at the clinics of the CM. Kirov Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg.

"The condition of the wounded is satisfactory, some are preparing for rehabilitation in specialized military medical organizations," the press service of the Ministry of Health noted.

Russian senators will be observing the elections in South Ossetia

Russian senators will take part in monitoring the second round of the presidential elections in South Ossetia, the press service of the Federation Council said on Thursday.
