Memorable events in celebration of the anniversary of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan have been arranged in Tskhinval:solemn laying of flowers and wreaths at the Memorial to the Afghan soldiers in the northern part of the town (district of Bam) and at the memorial cemetery chapel in the yard of the school № 5. The ceremony was attended by the leadership of South Ossetia headed by President Leonid Tibilov, Speaker of the Parliament Stanislav Kochiev, representatives of the Russian FSS Border Control Agency, the Fourth Military Base of the RF Defense Ministry, members of the Afghan War Veterans Union, relatives of the fallen Afghans, teachers and pupils of the boarding school in Tskhinval.

Two residents of South Ossetia have been released from Georgian prisons.
As IA "Res" has been informed at the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the President of South Ossetia, "the released are Margiev Omar Georgievich, born in 1981 and Tedeev Georgy Soslanovich, born in 1990."

South Ossetian President met with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia.
Agricultural development in South Ossetia was discussed at a meeting of President Leonid Tibilov with the Russian Deputy Minister for Agriculture Ilya Shestakov. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Agriculture of the RSO Mairbek Guchmazov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Guram Melkoev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Robert Zaseev.
The Head of State has welcomed the guests, noting that South Ossetia and Russia have been cooperating closely on issues of social development, and has expressed satisfaction that the cooperation will also be established in the agricultural sector.

South Ossetia precludes the establishment of any relations with Georgia unless Georgia recognizes the independence of the Republic and the genocide of the Ossetian people. This was announced today at a meeting of the South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov with the heads of ministries and departments. According to him, all other options should be considered as statements of personal nature.
