The Georgian mass-media have once again spread a disinformation that ostensibly last night in the vicinities of the village Nikozi has fallen a shell that has been let out from the direction of Tskhinval. According to the Georgian mass-media: «there are no killed or victims there. The group of monitoring of the military observers of OSCE and the representatives of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces visited the place of incident and recorded a shot from the direction of Tskhinval. They withdrew the splinters of the shell from the shell-hole». The correspondent of the agency «Res» has asked the assistant of the commander of JPKF on work with the mass-media Vladimir Ivanov to comment on the given information.
«The data on carrying out of a monitoring on May, 9th by the military observers of JPKF in the area of the settlement Nikozi and its results, spread by the Georgian mass-media, are contrary to fact. No information on shelling of the settlement Nikozi and applications from the Georgian side on carrying out of a monitoring in the given area was received by the Joint Staff of JPKF, in this connection no driving out of the group of the military observers in the given direction was carried out.
Once again the Georgian mass media has confused the public, having taken use of an unchecked data. It is necessary to note, that such actions do not promote to strengthening of trust between the parties in the zone of the conflict», he has told.
