The high award was also presented to Artur Naifonov, bronze medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling.

The Judoka Madina Taymazova and a tennis player Aslan Karatsev will also receive the Order of Friendship.

South Ossetian cadets of the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelov will take part in the international stages of the Airborne Platoon, Marine Assault and Tactical Shooter competitions of the International Army Games - 2021.

According to the press service of the Defense Ministry, the South Ossetian servicemen in these competitions are not among the teams at full strength.

As of August 16, 60 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in the "red zone" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center of South Ossetia, Eleonora Dzhioeva, the chief infectious disease specialist of the republic, told the “Res” news agency.

“Over the past day, three patients were hospitalized in the infectious diseases building of the Republic's medical center, and three people were also discharged for outpatient follow-up care. There is one patient in the intensive care ward,” said Dzhioeva.
