Asphalting of the Zar road, which is connecting the Republic of South Ossetia with Russia and bypassing Georgian inhabited villages of RSO, temporarily controlled by Tbilisi, will be over at 1 November 2008. This was disclosed by the RSO Chairman of Government Yuri Morozov during his visit to asphalt plant at RSO Djava district.
«Asphalt plant is absolutely new. It was purchased by the contractor with whom we had made a contract for Zar bypass road asphalting. The length of Zar road is 36 km. And till 1 November the asphalt work will be completed»-stated Morozov.

«On 6 June 2008 at 20:25 in the zone of Georgian-Ossetian conflict JPKF observation post of RNO-Alania «Ioncha» reported of the flight of AN-2 aircraft without identifying signs»-informed IA «Res» the assistant of JPKF commander on links with media captain Vladimir Ivanov. He has mentioned that «the flight of the aircraft passed beyond the fixed air corridors on the route from the west to east at the height of 1500m».

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia on behalf of the RSO President Eduard Kokoity turned to a number of ambassadors of accredited in Georgia States, as well as the OSCE Mission in Georgia with an invitation to visit RSO to get acquainted with the developing situation on the spot.

The situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone has a growing tendency to aggravation. How the Government of the Republic is coping with the ongoing situation told the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity in the interview to IA «Res» correspondent

–I would like to note that the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia is bending every effort to keep the negotiation process of Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement within the framework of Joint Control Commission. Saakashvili’s regime organizes provocations against the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia and peacekeeping forces. We are making great efforts to hold the situation in check.

As it was supposed on the preliminary results of Parliamentary elections in Georgia the ruling party «United national movement» emerged the victor. IA «Res» correspondent turned to the deputy of the RSO Parliament Chairman Tarzan Kokoity for the commentary. «Despite the passed Parliamentary elections are the internal case of Georgia it would be wrong to consider their results do not impact on Georgian-Ossetian relations. The victory of the ruling party is the evidence of the possibility of military aggression against South Ossetia.

«Mikhail Saakashvili brought to Georgia plain police regime. Jural state is bound by law and power functions are fulfilled within the legal framework. The priority of a police state is an illegal form and under different circumstances already rickety juridical procedures are thrown away. A Parliamentary election in Georgia is another evidence for this.

«Res» correspondent turned to RSO Foreign Minister deputy Alan Pliev for the commentary on the last statements of US senator Richard Lugar «US must head an active international diplomatic counter-offensive against Russia’s efforts on destabilization in Georgia and the whole region. The peaceful settlement of the confrontation will need US leadership and interaction of the rest NATO members».
